Rwanda Children's Fund
Partner:
GVN Foundation's partner in Rwanda is called Faith Victory Association. FVA works with the local community and all stakeholders to put in place mechanisms that eradicate poverty, that promote public health and that build capacity of women and children.
FVA runs non-formal education centers to cater to children from poor and victimized families in the town of Kigali. Access to education is limited because
- of domestic violence
- failure to get a meal for the day
- poverty and economic pressures
By running education centers, FVA provides training for vulnerable children and equips them with essential skills for coping with the challenges of daily life. The children are taught by GVN volunteers on basic numeric skills, literacy skills and skills related to fighting against gender based violence. In addition, the children are taught about good discipline and creativity through visits to different places and sports activities.
FVA is currently fundraising so that they will be able to continue offering at least one meal each day to these children. This meal enables the children to participate more actively in the centre’s education and is improving their level of nutrition.

By working with local partners GVN Foundation is able to have a direct impact on the day-to-day lives of children in Rwanda. Together with FVA we are seeking sustainable, innovative solutions to local problems. However, we rely entirely upon donors like you to help fund our work. Please make a donation to help us with our current projects.
90% of your donation (minus WorldPay fees) will directly reach our partner. The remaining 10% will be used to fund the GVN Foundation's administrative and program costs associated with processing your donation, generating your receipt, and reviewing the distribution of funds.
Please note your donation will go into a 'general projects fund' to be used to assist our partner. In all instances we strive to send funds to the stated project above but in the event of a change in project GVNF will determine the destination of funds.
