Eat So They Can 2007 - Some of our favourites.

Last year, our hosts managed to raise a fantastic total of $37,000! Read on for some of our favourite stories and see how they did it.

Ruth Flores Ames - Tijuana, Mexico

This is the first time I have participated in an event like this before and it was a great experience being an ESTC host…. I was really surprised and so happy because a total of 23 guests came - 23 friends who care. I have to say that living in a country like mine were poverty is a big issue too, it is awkward to ask for donations for a different country, but I learn not to underestimate the will to help, now I know is not impossible WE DO HAVE A HEART big enough for everybody.

Debbie Simpson - Whitsundays, Australia

We entertained 14 guests on the night with another 3 who were unable to attend giving us a donation toward our fundraising total. I have paid a total of US$600.00 which we think is a great effort for our small community. I have sent out thank you notes to our guests and they have responded letting us know that they had a great time and are very happy to have supported the Eat So They Can cause… Thank you all for the opportunity to get together with friends, as well as help to raise funds and awareness of the needs of children in Kenya, and all over the world.

Many thanks!

Joey Garr - Toronto, Canada

I hosted a dinner at my house for about 15 people… We decorated with some African flowers and African decorations. I bought some rocks that said hope, believe, peace, faith, love and placed them around the food table. We had some African music and some bongo playing. Everyone had a nice time and we are already thinking of ways to make it more successful next year.

Thank you for letting me be part of this great event.
