IDP Education Fund

The IDP education fund has been established by Shelley Bragg to support the education of children living in the IDP (Internally Displaced Person) camps in Kenya.

On visiting some of the camps in January 2010, Shelley became aware of the lack of resources and money available and how this hindered the children’s ability to complete their schooling. Already dealing with a basic issues of survival, such as having clean water to drink, a house to live in, and food to eat, education becomes a last priority in these children’s lives, when really, it is their main chance to improve their lives and the lives of their family. The fund aims to make every child’s education possible, successful, and easy.

There are 3 parts to the IDP Education Fund:

• Make a one-off donation to fund the materials, uniforms and furniture needed for the Rongai camp primary school
• Sponsor a child from Rongai IDP camp to attend high school
• Sponsor a child from Pipeline IDP camp to attend primary school
