Breaking Free from Poverty

Arriving in the heart of London this year is the inspirational and international photo exhibition "Breaking Free from poverty", a collection of images documenting the beginning of the process of children "breaking free from poverty".

The striking images on display demonstrate how children's lives can be drastically improved through the help of others, with all the photos being taken by GVN volunteers during their placements in Africa and Asia where they were helping children in need.

The fabulous woman staging the exhibition is Richmond University student, Kelsey Montague. Kelsey says she was inspired to curate an exhibition for GVN after hearing about the success of the Denver exhibition, and especially after visiting the schools and orphanages in Kenya earlier this year.

"I loved the concept of bringing an international problem and solution to an international school in an international city. This combined with the experiences I had in Kenya really inspired me to curate an exhibition of 'Breaking Free from Child Poverty' here in London. If I can inspire one person at this exhibition then I will have achieved my goal."

GVN wishes to send a huge thank you to Kelsey for holding the exhibition, filming and producing the 'Breaking Free' film and offering her talents. Kelsey's 'Breaking Free' short film will soon be available for viewing on the GVN Foundation website. Please support Kelsey and GVN by bringing your friends and family along to the exhibition and help raise awareness about the millions of children around the globe who are living in extreme poverty.
