Who are we?
The GVN Foundation believes that empowering women and children is the key to changing the world. We achieve this by providing resources to grassroots organizations working with vulnerable women and children in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Building Houses to Change Lives
The Project of the Month is an initiative which puts one of our projects in the spotlight for a month to help raise awareness and funds for a specific cause. For June, our focus is on our Housing Project in Honduras! Please help us build five houses and change many lives!
The first $5,000 we raise this month will be matched dollar for dollar by Ray Seidler, a former GVN Volunteer who will be overseeing the project.
We will provide a gift certificate for every donation made - for those in the US, why not make a contribution as a Father’s Day gift?
Objective: To raise $5,000 to complete the construction of five houses in an agriculture town - Chiligatoro, Honduras.
Need: Honduras is one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America, with nearly two-thirds of Hondurans living in poverty. Living in inadequate housing can cause health and security issues.
Why Houses?: By building new homes for five families, we will be greatly improving their living conditions. Having a house also creates stability for a family and especially for children. It creates a sense of pride and dignity. In order for a family to qualify for a house, each family who will occupy the house has to complete a certain amount of hours of labour on their own home. The houses will be built with local materials out of either concrete or clay bricks. By providing these families with homes, it will help kick-start their future and make it possible for their children to have a brighter future.
